Below is the handout for our first shooting project! I am excited to see what ya’ll come up with, especially since I am limiting you to you backyard (kinda). The purpose of this assignment is really to get you warmed up again to photography – art is often a lot like a sport; sometimes it takes some time to get back in the groove. Read on for the assignment sheet and some examples!
Because of my lack of a voice, I decided to take what I was going to do today and tomorrow and turn it into a worksheet instead of just a lecture. Download the Word document linked below and then answer all of the questions. I’m calling it a research sheet (not a research paper) for a reason: I’m looking for specific examples and detailed explanations!
Don’t just chose the first answer or the first photograph that you find – look through several before choosing one that is what you think s the best answer to that question. Ask yourself how you could have made that photograph if you had been the photographer.
Below are the handouts I gave yesterday on our first day in Advanced Photography. The first link is the course syllabus, and the second is the camera loan letter. You will only need the camera loan letter if you do not have access to a DSLR camera. If you do, then all you need to worry about is the first link, which is just a copy of the syllabus, which you should already have!
Welcome to Advanced Photo, and I hope that you will enjoy your time in the class, and I can hardly wait to see the images that you are going to take!
Welcome to the Advanced Photography Class blog. This blog will be where I will be posting handout, assignment information, as well as recordings of any demonstrations that I do in class. It will be a very important resource for you during the class, and you will want to visit regularly.
On the right, you will see a link that says “Subscribe to This Blog.” I want you to enter your email address so that the blog will automatically send you a notification whenever something important is posted. Don’t worry too much – it won’t be emailing you every day. 🙂
Once you enter your email address on that page, then go to your email and find an email from my website (it may be in your junk mail folder), and in that email there will be a link. Click on that link to confirm the subscription. This is basically just verifying that you are a real person, not a spam program.
